as some of u know, i will end my internship end of this feb. and i feel sad! i don't want to leave the church, or should i say i cant bear to. I enjoy every bit of my internship and i cannot think of anything else i would like to do. hmmm...i have an interview with REACH FSC on monday for the position of youth worker, but i am not excited actually..maybe my phobia of working in an fsc is still there.. i think i have to pray about this. i want God to lead me once again.my talk with Ps Esther just now reminded me of something. i was sharing with her how i would nv imagine myself working in the church and how God opened the door, and i really enjoyed every bit of what i was doing in church. And i was reminded that; if God can open the door to something new for me, surely, he can open the door again for me this time. I think i just have to trust him! I believe with all my heart that God has placed in me a burden and passion for working with the youths, so he will also lead me to where he wants to place me. I just have to walk by faith.rem when i first stepped into internship, i blogged abt how i am scared that i cannot survive on the little pay. and u know what? In my last 5 mths of internship, i have NEVER been in lack! Although the pay is really not enough, somehow, i never went hungry! Praise God! His timely providence and generosity amazes me. God is good!!! It is assuring to know that when you follow God's ways, He will provide. All you need to do is to trust Him. =)
enjoying someone's company doesnt equate to liking the person right?
the start of this year has been pretty smooth. not much updates in my life recently. actually i think it is better this way. life is simpler. life is good! life can actually be less complex if us humans are less complicated. will be going to Batam for a 3 days churh staff retreat! WoooHOOO!!! I am so excited cos this will be like a mini holiday for me!!! hahaa...think i will be bringing my swimsuit there and swim!!!! hahahhaaa....COOL! but too bad, i am unable to buy J Co donuts back! cos i will not be going by that ferry terminal....so sad! Their donuts is the BEST! haiz...facebook is not very user friendly...takes quite long to load sometimes..as u can see, i am not really sure what to blog abt so being very random here.
dont really want to care about anything else other than the essentials now
essentials means God, family, friends, and ministry.
i want to lead a simpler life.
what an ironyall of the famous people that PS David mentioned i dunno.i fell asleep during class today. i must be tired.i dont really get the lesson. I hope i will be able to absorb the next lesson.
after much co-jioing by Beni, i've finally decided to sign up!its ya like what he said, a lot of things to do. I would say a lot to maintain! If u want things to progress that is. and i cant believe the VARIETY and WEIRDNESS of things u can find here. Everything u dont expect to find, u will find here. ha....if u are bo liao, yes u will find that it is entertaining. It did, entertain me for one afternoon. kill time lor. that's facebook for u! Go explore if u have time!
Ps David joined us for GG today...and it was cool! HA...i guess many of us were happy to have him there. As i interact more with our senior pastor, i just love him more! hahaa...glad to have him as ours.. like joyce said, cant imagine church without him... =)after that went for lunch with Ps Esther, Ps Ron, Ps Cx and Regina. Oh welcome Regina! Her 1st day with church. Welcome to the family! The curry yong tau foo at tanglin mall sucks. and overpriced. hmm...maybe i should have went along with Ps Cx and eat Mac! haaa...then spent the whole afternoon with the REAL people. felt useful that i was able to input into their lives. They have their whole future in front of them. I pray they will use it for God and wisely. after that, went to have dinner with Jess and Mic at Vivo. We went to have Sushi Tei. Quite nice but also more exp. But i think Ichiban Moshi is better. haaa...i am a glutton. but my appetite nowadays seems to have shrinked. dunno why. maybe i should be happy but i am not. cos means something is wrong with my body...still coughing..super irritating...dunno how long i will cough until. just dont cough until die can already! i have bought all my CNY clothes!!! have u?CNY is COMING! *grins*
heartbreaking.mind-blowing.would u ever say that to anyone?YL gave a sermon at the youth and YA svcs today. and what is so different about his sharing from other preachers is that, other preachers shared from other people's egs, YL gave his own. He shared his heart. and i was given the privilege to introduce him at the YA svc, something i never dreamt i would do. OF cos i would gladly do that! When we were in China, he took very good care of us that all of us took a liking to him during the short stay. He is probably the most courageous person i've ever known. His great faith is also amazing. I believe many of us were blessed by his sharing. At the YA, almost 80% of the people responded to the altar call!!! The call is urgent. We need to save souls and we can't wait. We need to be constantly challenged to move out in faith, lest we forget and get too comfy. YL is the person to challenge us because to us, he is like the person who has been there and done that! "prison is not scary" and who best to qualify that except for a man who has been in jail and had brought 39 of the inmates to Christ? Praise God!and how about the time when he had only 5 renminbi (about S$1) and left home to become a full time evangelist.as he puts it succintly, no one has ever supported him, only God. and today, he is in no lack and is actively fulfilling God's call by planting churches and training leaders. To his passionate sharing, my only exclaims were AMEN! and HALLELUJAH! his zeal and boldness and heart for the Lord is so uplifting and heart stirring. It is the cry that says "Break my heart for what breaks yours."It is the heart which says "Here i am, send me."
that was the phrase u always use.how abt using it on urself?was quite disgusted with a friend's gesture just now.perhaps it wont matter to some gals, but i absolutely does!!!he seemed to have no qualms doing that, but he has no rights!and now i think i will start to distance myself from him...but most likely cos of circumstances, i will not be able to.God help!we are so different in every way! omg.some of ur ways i really cannot stand.kk..on to other stuff, been sick for the past 2 days..was feverish and coughing..like suddenly. dunno why. maybe its my body's signal to rest. . been also doing the deut cell kits, and i am quite happy with the progress so far. i guess in another 1 week plus or 2, i'd be able to finish the whole series. Praise God! even as i prepare the cell kits, and read from deut, God also taught me certain things. Yes the OT covers much of rituals, worship and instructions to live as God's holy people, yet it challenges christians today as well! Though we have no need for sacrifice and rituals, have we remained obedient to God? Can non-christians today see us as different from the world? Are they able to see us as God's holy people?my cousin Joey talked to me online a few days ago abt my r/s with my dad. He said its wise to reconcile the r/s, if not it will have adverse impact on my future career path. i never thought of that until he mentioned. and it is true and important for me to make peace with my dad before i can move on in life. i am ashamed to admit to him that i am a christian and intends to serve full time. i bet he'll just laugh it off and sniggle it off. He has such a bad impression of me now. i dont think he'd ever see me as his daughter again. unless......God is merciful and help him to forgive me. to make peace with my dad...how impossible. given my dad's character. i'm very apprehensive about this. yet i know this is God's way. to run into the way of the world is to run away from God.
just wanted to blog down 2 things...
1) it is pure STUPIDITY to stay up till 3 am on msn and sleep past the time i'm supposed to wake up. + super unhealthy. and that was me yesterday. stupid.
2) had a wonderful dinner just now with all the 13 china delegates. they will be here for 1 month to attend training in our church. We brought them to Esplanade and the merlion at fullerton, and later Lau Pat Sat for dinner. Have never managed such a crowd before, felt like a tour guide! ha..just without the experience and knowledge. lol. like when they asked us abt the merlion, we couldnt explain very well, except to say that it was a legend. ha. sad to say we had returned our history to our teachers already. seeing that they were happily taking pictures made us feel better...ha..
one thing i really admire abt the chinese christians is their humility and recognition of God's grace. they rarely take things for granted.. and what they have they know they owe it to God. as we were standing by the merlion, admiring the night view, one of the shu shu told us that he would never have dreamt about visiting Singapore. He did not even harbour such a thought. And by the grace of God, here he is, in Singapore, to visit fellow Christian brothers and sisters. By God's grace he says, that he is able to come to Singapore. I believe he said that because had he not been a christian and at the same time, linked to some overseas mission organisation like the church, he, in his lifetime, probably would not have the chance to visit Singapore.. neither would he have dreamt of such a thought. He thanked God for this opportunity.
and it is true. without God, all these would not have been possible. imagine all the connections and procedures to be in place for all 13 of them to come here. not an easy feat. what he said also made me recognise how awesome our God is. Nothing is impossible for Him. He is a God who take cares of his people. He is a God who will work for the good of those who love him.
These 13 delegates i believe, have suffered or have been persecuted in one way or another for their faith back home. BUT today, they are here, and they are enjoying themselves, in a non-threatening and relaxed environment. here. for this time, they can let down their guard and freely enjoy what is before them. for all their hard work and perserverance, they deserve this break! God is good! He knows what his people need and He provides for them. And the weather today was excellent, windy and dry. From the time we set off to the time we head for home, it didn't rain. Thus, we were able to do sightseeing and dine outdoors. Praise God!
Dear heavenly father, thank you for your grace and kindness today and to all the delegates whom you love. Father, i pray that even as they continue to serve you, Lord you will do a deeper work in their hearts, that Lord, they will know you more, and thus come to love you more. Lord, bless and protect their churches and family back home. Protect them by your holy spirit. Let no harm befall them. Dear Lord, i pray that in this month of training, they will be encouraged and strengthend by You for the work ahead. Father, i pray you will also bless them greatly in this training and that they will receive all the good things that you have for them. Lord, what they have, may you multiply so that they will be rich in Your abundance. Lord, i thank you for bringing them all safely here. May you also bring them safely home. Lord, bless and anoint this time of training that it will be effective and beneficial for them for their work back hime. Dear Lord, thank you and praise you, in Jesus's most precious name i pray, amen.
welcome 2008! woa..another yr is gone ! and that means i am 1 YEAR older......sighs...shakes head...haiz....
lol.
in the last few days of 2007, i managed to do some reflections and also think abt plans for 2008.
and i concluded that i had so much and many to thank God for!!! Though 2007 had been a yr of major changes in my life, career and family, God has seen me through. Without God, i would not have survived them all. And i also remember how God has blessed me in 2007;
his providence financially
giving me the gift of tongues,
gave me opportunities to go for my 1st mission trip and to be an intern in church,
making new friends in church like Jianxiong, Daniel, Meiyin, Jeanette, Rongxiang, the whole SP cell, most of RP cell, and many more....if i have to name, i will take another like half an hour to list...ha...so i shall stop here. ya..really made many new friends this yr.
strengthened my friendships and relationships with family
giving me close companions and soulmates like Hannah and Xun Yu
continuing close sister like friendships with my dear charlie angels
working with dependable and capable fellow interns Jeanie and Andrea!
growing closer and getting to know better my youth and young adults pastors--they have inspired me, equipped and sharpened me in ministry + they are all endearing people. how blessed i am. (",)
chances to work with the youths-->to be a youth worker in church-->my aspiration fulfilled! =)
lastly, thank God for every single day of 2007-- now my memories.
and i am thankful now that i am reminded of these things.
realised hor, thankfulness comes with remembrance, diminish with forgetfulness.
and how forgetful us humans can be.
so even as u start this brand new year, may u also take some time to remember the Lord's goodness and kindness last year and be thankful.
