Why i live in despair
Cause while awake or dreaming
I know she's never there
And all these time i act so brave
I'm shaking inside
Why does it hurt me so
Imh. yep. preety obvious i thought.
TO think the taxi uncle actually asked if i was talking about the one at SGH! When i clarified that it was woodbridge. He was like " are you ok?"
ha. but that's what we always associate imh with right? mad, insane, crazy people. We joke about it, laugh about it and even claim to live there.
When i got there, it was a different story altogether. People there(seeking outpatient treatment) looked so normal, i wouldn't even cast them a second look had i not seen them there!
Later, as the social worker was about to bring us to visit the in-patients, Jess and i looked at each other with apprehension. I didn't know what to expect until jEss started telling me about the 'horror' stories she had heard from the other coursemates. Needless to say, we freaked out.
Still, we had to do our assignment.
With a deep breath,
Jess and i went to the ward with the social worker, the patients there scrutinised us as they would with new sightings. Their gaze followed us whenever we go.
There were about 30plus of them in the ward, some watching tv, some roaming ard, a few lying on the floor. It was a much more controlled scene than i expected. No shouting, no screaming, no violence whatsover.
As we observed them, found most of them in a world of their own. find them quite pitiful.
They are not mad
They just can't seem to find themselves in a world which has no place and time for them.
Thanks Esther and Robin for commenting.. guess u guys flattered my bro lor.. haha.. brought him to chc that day cos he asked me to! saying he'll rather go to chc than rot at home! What an excuse right! But i thought just bring him along lor... good exposure. though he's still a bit the aversive to the idea of Christianity.. cos i think he still don't understand religion, faith and stuff kinda thing. That's also why he was kinda disinterested during the service.
But i'm sure he will come to understand one day.. and yes i'll be praying for his salvation!! Till the day comes!!
Conflicted. That's how i've been feeling these past few days. what else. That's also why i stay out late into the night the past few days. Been thinking about thinking. Conflicted. There's something i've gotta resolve.
That aside, i still have happy news! My sister told me recently that she's now a believer!!! Hallelujah!! Praise GOD!!!! The day which i've been praying for has finally materialised! gosh, I still cant believe this. But i know i've got a great and awesome God. He hears me!!! He answered my prayer!!
I'm really really glad. And my sis and i had a good hug that day.. we're now not only sisters by birth, we're also sisters-in-CHRIST!!!!
knowing that sure makes things a bit easier for me.. at least i know i will be understood the next time i mention something from the bible.. and we can pray together!! As Maisie puts it, "I know i'll have another family member going heaven with me."
And that would be sooooooo cool.....
although converting the rest of my family would be an extremely uphill task, i'm sure God will definitely have His way. In His time. Meanwhile, i'll keep praying...
"and whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."
But as i was chatting with him, i found out that he's the only Christian in his family, and that he hasn't been attending chc due to wk. As i heard that, my heart aches. If a mere sinner like me aches, how much more so the heart of the greatest lover of all? How would Jesus feel? Wouldn't his heart ache more? That one of his child is far away from him?
Then i realised that God's heart aches for his children; those who have strayed, those who have yet to know him, but esp those who believes in Him and yet for some reason are lost in the world... unable or unwilling to find their way back to Him.
And as i thot of that, i thought about how God must have felt. and i think i felt it too.
Sometimes, when we feel so blessed worshipping in God's place, there are actually many others out there who are not so blessed. They may be working, busy, prohibited from going chc or have yet to know God. Our hearts should be praying for them. That one day, they too, will be able to taste the God we delight so much in. And know that God is good; all the time.
The next time you pray or worship God, spare a thought for these people out there. Have God's heart for them. Pray for them. I'm confident that God will bring his people back, meanwhile we should pray and help those who are lost to find their way back.
