and i dont mean lessons.if you notice that something is very wrong and you dont speak up, i think you're not doing justice to those present. u're doing them a disfavour.and that's why i believe lectures are good...at the appropriate times.Sparing the rod does the child more harm than good.I addressed cell yest regarding the low attendance at the easter services. Less than 50% of the cell was present at the service. I dunno why. but i was very affected by this. It just implies that the cell is not passionate about evangelism. And if Christians are not passionate about evangelism, what kind of kingdom are they preaching? disappointed and saddened, i decided not to teach deut yest but to share on the topic of evangelism. I do not wish to see my cell members jaded in evangelism, dont wish to see them discouraged about the lack of results. I want to stir their passion for evangelism, just like how they were when they first believed in Jesus. i know it is easy to get discouraged when you share and you dont see the results. It is easy to be distracted bcos you have one hundred and one other things to do. And after being for a Christian for so long, it is easy to slip into the comfortable mode. Still, evangelism is God's command. It was never optional or a favourite past time. Reinhard Bonnke said " Many churches are active but active doing what?"and i also would like to ask; " Many of us Christians are busy, but busy doing what?"if we are not evangelising, then something is very wrong. When Jesus started his ministry at age 30, his mission is very clear. He came to save sinners. Salvation is his top priority. Reaching out to people was his main concern. What about Jesus's followers today? Are we actively reaching out to those around us?and Ps Cx addressed the YA CLs today. i feel that YAs are very lifeless. Passion is missing in our services and people. Why is that so? Have we become complacent? Have we become self-sufficient? Are we contented? Are we too comfortable? Are we plain lazy? Are we praying enough? Do we not care about what is happening to souls out there? I do not have an answer. But i sense the "deadness" of spirituality in our midst. If as leaders, we are "dead", how can we expect our people to be passionate?
I pray that each of us leader will recognise our role in God's salvation plan and play our part. God holds us accountable for the souls in our midst. Dear Lord, show us what we need to do and change to impact lives for your kingdom. Lord, forgive us for the times we've side-tracked from your calling. Father, we know that to be a leader is a holy calling, therefore, strengthen and equip us for battle. For we know that we do not fight a losing battle. We have already won! So let us move forward in valour and faith, to take hold of what you've given onto us. Help us Lord to enter the promised land and to reap the harvest that is ripe. Lord, i pray that you will do a deeper work in each of our hearts. I pray that we'll never abandon the calling you've placed in our lives. May we be like Paul who endured for an eternal crown of life and who was ever so passionate about sharing the gospel. Lord i commit all of us into your hands, bless the works of our hands i pray. In Jesus's precious name i ask, Amen!
How far would you go for a friend?Would you die for a friend?lets just say a real platonic friend?or how much would you sacrifice for friendship?this easter service, we did a skit on pure plantonic friendship love. A friend died to save his friend's life.this is something we dont often see or experience rite..a friend dying for another.Have u had a friend die for u?i dont.. of cos i wish no one would ever die bcos of me! or die for me! I would most probably for guilt stricken the rest of my life!yet, that is what Jesus did for all man when he died on the cross. He died for you and me.we often cannot imagine someone being willing to die for us..yet do you know, someone had died for u?He is the King of the universe. He is the Creator of the earth. He is the one and only true God.He is God's beloved son.His name is Jesus. He died for u and me to take away our sins, our wrongdoing. Before the world began, you were on his mindAnd every tear you cried is precious in His sightBecause of His great love, he gave His only SonEverything was done so you would come.
Jesus did everything...
Everything was DONE so YOU would COME.
i don't know why it was harder for me to walk away today.normally it wont be a problem. it was my routine. i am used to it.yet as i walked away today, my heart felt different. it seems to want to linger. it seems to be aching.aching for company it wished it has. wished it wouldnt be left alone. wished something would keep it warm. something was happening to this heart. today it tugged. .and got emo. for the longest time, it should have been used to it. but today, the heart says it has never been used to coldness. it wants to be warm.isnt it strange when your mind is indifferent while your heart feels something?have u felt this way before?i always think the mind is so powerful...u know thoughts can be so persuasive and influential.yet today, my heart taught me something. it seems to be saying "dont belittle me."the heart of the matter is deep stuff.arent we often stirred by emotions of the heart than of the mind?arent we more easily swayed by how we feel than what we think..?there is nothing quite like a grieving heart.
as i walked away
my heart seems to grieve
it seems to want to linger
yet my feet has walked me out
the things i'll never get to say
to be buried deep within the heart
the mind knows not how much the heart grieves.
its harder to walk away this time.
woa.. been real busy this past week. At work and in church. actually social life also hectic...cos trying to meet people during my free time, then i realised when i free doesnt mean my friends are free. so socially havent really got time to meet friends also. oh u know what BUSY means? ok an acroymn i heard from ps calvin recently. Busy simply means Being Under Satan's Yoke. hilarious rite? but its true to a very large extent. dont u think so?Satan wants us to be so busy that we have no time for God!!! anyway most of the time busyiness is more of a choice than lifestyle. We CAN find time if we want to. But sadly many of us dont make that effort bcos we think we can never run out of our busyness. well, that's a lie. we CAN. only whether we want it enough to make it happen. =)and yes i have been under Satan's yoke.... ha. i know know... i hope to RUN out of it soon!recently been BUSY cos of i am helping in directing and stage managing our church's upcoming Easter skit; Remembering Love. So past few weeks, cos of our tight schedule, we have been having rehearsals once and twice every week. past 2 days we have rehearsals at G2 at nights. on top of having a full-time job, overseeing and managing the skit is really a tight balancing act for me. have been thru the panicky and stressful stage...tiring yet i persevere on, cos i believe this is for a good cause. not only is it a good cause, this is my duty. i really believe that this skit is an eternal investment i can make for God's kingdom. And it is for a cause i am willing to invest my all. Bcos i know i will not be running in vain. This run will end in victory. God has won and Satan has lost. That's a fact that no one can change. The thing is, which side are u on?This choice u make will determine your resting place after u die.God wants u to go heaven of cos, but you HAVE to choose for yourself. Will it be heaven or hell for u?I'm destined for heaven.Where will you be? How will you get to heaven?there is no other way to heaven than to believe in Jesus.
"Reaching down to pull someone up is the best exercise you can ever do."
time flies...this is my 4th week at REACH!
and i realise when you hold a full-time job, it becomes harder to blog regularly.
that explains the lack of updates.
so much to share actually..but i dunno where i should start from...
well..everything will be too much to blog here.
just wanna say that i am thankful for this job.
a few months ago, i felt so ill-equipped and inadequate, hence dare not submit my application.
yet landing this job was not likely by chance or by luck.
i believe God placed me in this job...bcos i never really wanted or expected to be in this.
bcos i fear i cannot do it by my own strength.
i was fearful. i had no faith in myself.
now at my 4th week, i know, not by my own but by God's strength that i walk on.
i've failed so many times, but you believe in me.
So i get my act together and move on.
I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom i trust."
Psa 91:2
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psa 73:26
after yest's events, i am challenged to believe in the best and to love the students.after yest's program in sch and as we were packing up to leave, my colleague discovered that her wallet was missing. She explained that she left her bag in the classrm but left it unzipped. Then later a security guard handed to us her wallet. The handphone and cash was all gone! What was so strange was that she had left her wallet in the classroom where we had our session and yet the wallet was found outside of the classroom, at the 1st floor. We were at the 2nd floor. It makes no sense bcos the classrm door was locked all this while and the key was kept by my colleague. We did not understand how the wallet could have been found at the 1st floor.our only logical conclusion was that one of the students from our program stole the wallet from her bag. i dun really know how to describe that feeling. but just when i think of the possibility that someone in our program stole her stuff, i just felt so...gek xin. its like i just cant bring myself to believe...i feel very disappointed ...very uncomfortable, just thinking that it may have been one of the students who did it. i am saddened by it. its like a heartache u cant really explain. u just dont believe it... or rather, u cant bring yourself to believe it.my colleague felt the same way. afterall, these are the boys we have been seeing the past few weeks. She does not feel sad about losing her money and hp, just wants to have her sim card back. She was very calm. I dunno if i can be as calm if i were her. most likely not. and yest session was a difficult one. the boys were rowdy and hard to manage. and then the theft. the DM said he will investigate first thing in the morning...and....i hope the boy who took it will own up...although that possibility is very SLIm..i dunno how i can face them again today.. really dunno how..i am really challenged to believe in them. and to love them. Love keeps no records of wrong. but i WON'T give up believing. for what hope is there by giving up?Dear God, may you turn this around for good. Only you can work in their hearts and cause change and growth. Lord, fill us with ur everlasting grace, love and mercy, that we will continue loving despite the risk of getting hurt. Lord, help us see what u see. Fill us with your love that we will continue to love. Teach us never to give up. Thank You Lord. In Jesus' precious name i pray, Amen.
