brought the boys from Xroads to their first ever soccer competition at bukit batok.... and they were second runner up!! haa...okie theer were only 4 teams for their category... but still they did well and i'm so proud of them....considering that they were up against bigger boys! They did not back off but rose to the challenge and played their hearts out! They were able to hold their own against the stronger teams. Many bystanders were inpressed by them even.
As a stand in manager (Isaac is their coach), i share their glory also! hahaa... though i am a girl in a male dominated sports....but actually i like soccer too...just that i cant really play with boys or guys... :(
Well done boys! So i treated them Mac...and they were so happy! :) the innocence of kids...so happy to receive the trophy also...
shall join them for soccer training next sat!!! :) So Looking forward to it!!!! :)
and i know........ Xroads never really left my heart. *smiles*

the past few weeks and days felt like a whirlwind of events. things happened one after another, progresses rapidly that i dont really have time to stop and think about whats really going on. When i paused to reflect, realised that things have indeed progressed much faster than i know. and i guess its really time to take stock and ask myself, where is all this leading to?

have i given it enough thought? is this what we are prepared for? will this be pleasing to God? will this be the best for u?

so i've decided to give us time to think it through and that we seek God's will and direction. i am not worried about what may happen to us.. bcos i know everything is in God's hands. there is nothing to fear, fret about or worry bcos God is in control. :)

i'm so glad u understood and agreed...

and i'm thankful to God for u. :)

my prayer for u

Sunday, November 16, 2008

had to come to a decision today which was not easy for me to say to the other party.

but i knew to avoid further hurt or damage, i had to do it. though i know it will be quite hard for the other person to accept. i dunno what will happen 3 months from now.. i can only pray God your will be done. i pray too that u wont be hurt. i pray u will find ur direction in God and that u'll want his will more than anything else. I pray u'll know you're deeply loved by God. u're not who your friends say you are, u are who God says u are. Jia you k? :)

i'm not rejecting u.... i just dont want to be ur distraction or trophy. Lord i pray u'll speak to him about this and help him understand. Lord may u continue to work in his life and cause growth. Open the eyes of his heart to see you and know your will. As he seeks you, Lord may you reveal your will to him. May you show him your glory and grace. That Lord you are more than enough for him. You will provide and care for him because no one loves him more than you do. Thank you Lord! In the most precious name of Jesus i ask, Amen.

Warmth

Sunday, November 09, 2008

was preparing for bed olreadi....but this tugging at my heart says i should blog this down since its been long since i experienced something like today...

was down with food posioning last few days and so was on MC for 2 days. those 2 days were really bad. i slept so much till i thought i was gong crazy! literallY! i was sleeping all day long! kinda scare that i would have bed sores! haaa...but food poisoning really made your body weak like jelly....u just have no strength to do anything... u just sleep and go to the toliet and do ur stuff...and ya prob drink lots of warm water which i did! and u just break out in sweat all the time. really bad experience..

today i felt better but still kinda weak.... but still convinced myself to go YA service.
PS Jadene preached today and i liked her teaching though i wished the slides would go a bit slower so i could catch all the words! She shared about how we should be transformed by God. and i like the daffodil story! never really know or seen daffodils before! but when i saw the pictures, they are beautiful! Have u seen a whole field of daffodils?

then i went dinner with Isaac and the SP cell...been quite sometime since i had dinner with them. and i really enjoyed my time with them. somehow i enjoyed more with them than the YAs... which is quite strange... but i guess its good that i can really still click with them despite the age difference.. haha...

and we went arcade to play!!! too bad the machine spoil so i cant race with jondave! but ha... still quite fun.....

then the interesting was the last part when we went to kopi roti to have some drinks that we had a good discussion of grace, salvation and faith. It was good because we would never had a better opportunity to talk about such stuff and to share, and to ask questions. and the question was simple; "how do you know you are saved?" Is is once saved, always saved?"

and as Isaac shared enthusiastically, we all learnt alot... and it is good that we can be assured that God in his grace and mercy chose us, and not we choose him. For as fickle minded humans, we cant make up our minds most of the time! and if salvation depended on us, many of us would have died! so it really dawned on me that God did the work. He took the initiative and chose us. and He did for us, what we could not have done for ourselves. Salvation is God'sidea, not ours. It is a gift from God so that no one could boast. Indeed, who would have thought of such a noble and incredible rescue plan?

Christians are really sinners saved by grace through faith.

tonight's dinner also made me realise how impt christian fellowship is. we may sometimes undermine its importance, but i think it is vital to our growth. as eddie began to share, i could sense us coming together as one body of christ to uphold and support him. and ... i believe this is how christians brothers and sisters should stand as one in christ. it is about loving one another.

and as i end off this day, i feel a sense of warmth...which i havent felt in a long time.i believe this is how agape love should feel like.

Lure

Tuesday, November 04, 2008

G said something over dinner yest which led me to ponder... he said "Its not easy to be a christian."

and i was like "how come?" In my mind, i was disagreeing!

bcos i think that being a christian is the best thing that could ever happen to anyone!

It is the most blessed identity and status to have!

upon more thought, i realise while i've been looking at the eternal perspective of things, G was talking about the wordly state of being a christian.

Indeed, if we look at the society today, christians are not considered the privileged or to be envied lot are they? To most, christians have too many rules to follow, dont do what they preach, and talk about God, Jesus all the time! Christians are also challenged and pulled in all aspects to be able to be above refute, to live up to the high moral standards stated in the bible, and to be supposedly better persons than the average Singaporean.

or maybe the reverse, christians are just show-offs!

the pressure seems to be on us to perform. the world expects us to do better and be better off.

are we?

how true! and the bible says this clearly through Paul:

"For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like men condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men." -1 Cor 4:9

the truth is; the whole world is watching Christians. or rather Christians are being watched.

perhaps the most important question is for us christians. and the question is "Who is your audience?"

yes the lure of the world is great. we could perform for the world to see or we could follow the world's expectations of us.

yet, the world's opinion of us shouldnt matter to Christians at all...... all because the world has no say in our final destiny. Only God's does.
