Dear Jesus, may your name be glorified in what we do.

Psa 33:18-19

But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
to deliver them from death
and keep them alive in famine.

Eyes that see God bigger than the giants

tmr i'll be embarking on a mission trip with 4 other team members. i'd be there for 2 weeks and back on 1st Aug. frankly speaking, i am very excited yet at the back of my mind, i know that this trip is also going to be a test of my faith and trust in God, a time of stretching, a time of moulding and a time of facing the giants. i believe it will be a time of spiritual warfare. When someone asks me if i am a Christian, will i deny Jesus or will i stand for Him?
and to what lengths?

now i really dunno what i'd do.

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat
I'm in
Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out His hand
But the waves are calling out my name
And they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy, you'll never win!""You'll never win!"
But the
voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
The voice of truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name
And he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy you'll never win!""You'll never win!"

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them lookin' down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth.

Dear friend, I pray that even as you embark on your 1st full time career as a teacher, God will continue to guide and lead u. I pray that u will always lean on Abba Father for your source of love, strength, joy, peace and hope. For he is the Abba who never fails nor forsakes his child. Pray that you will always have the joy of the Lord as your strength. pray that you will be a blessing to those whom you teach. Rem that God is Jehovah Jireh-He Provides. May u trust in his divine providence for your every need. "The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing."-Psa34:10 lastly, i pray that God will use you, mould u and train you to be the person He meant u to be. God bless u dear friend! In Jesus's precious name i ask, amen!

my prayer requests for EA mission trip

Saturday, July 07, 2007

So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty. -Zechariah 4:6

Pls pray:

-That God's will be done in EA
-
That God's spirit will be poured out on the Chinese, to all those who come for the services and camp, especially the youth leaders and youth.
-
That God will grant them spiritual direction, be their encouragement and strength, especially the leaders.
-
That God will break down and demolish every stronghold, demonic or cultic or falsehood, the church(es) there are experiencing
-That God will build his church and his people there, bind them and sanctify them by His truth
-
That we will not be ashamed of the Gospel but proclaim it courageously and by faith when the opportunity arises
-That we will lean on the Holy Spirit in whatever we do.
-
That God's favour will be upon us.
-
That we will praise God in everything! despite the fear of animals roaming around, sandflies bites, toilet smell, no privacy!
-
The name of Jesus be lifted high. That we give All Glory to God!!!
Lastly,
-
Pray in faith that God will do exceedingly more than you and i can expect and pray for.

Please pray with us as we walk by faith and not by sight, as we lean on the Holy Spirit and not by our might.

Thank you!!!

so blessed..

Monday, July 02, 2007

I am so blessed...
so blessed, i cant contain it..
so blessed i gotta give it away...
that is so true!

as i ponder upon my life, indeed i am blessed.
w a family, a roof over my head, adequate nutrition, financially sufficient, friends who stay by my side in my tough times and encourage me during my downs, being able to contribute to church by serving, belonging to a big family of Christ, present and ex-colleagues who have been so patient and gracious to me, having fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who are my pillars of strength and being phyically whole and healthy...and and....the list would go on!

just now, i think back upon that time during retreat when i was down with severe rashes. I stayed in the hotel room and did not go down for my meals. I was conscious and fearful of how fellow brothers and sisters would react if they see me in such a state. also..i was afraid that i would scare them with those rashes. So i remained in the room. One of my cell grp members, Hannah, knowing that i was down with rashes and stayed in the room, offered to bring food up for me. Although she did not know if that was allowed, she asked the hotel staff and in the end, brought the food up to my room! In fact, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!!!!
When i saw her arrive in my room with the food, i was speechless.
a part of me was amazed at her willingness bring food for me at the expense of her own inconvenience. another part of me was filled with shuo bu chu de gratitude. I was really touched by her gesture of love. i could not understand why someone would actually bother abt me, and thought about me when i did not even ask for it. i mean, i am sick...usually people will just leave me alone to rest right? but Hannah bothered and cared enough to ask if i have eaten, if i have taken the medicine and if i felt better. Having someone like Hannah for a friend, i've discovered, helps me more in my illness than popping pills!
and there were also many others in retreat who prayed for me, and asked if i was feeling better. they made me feel so loved! cos for me, i am someone whom does not expect much care from others cos i dont like to impose on others.
as i hungrily ate the food she brought up, i keep telling myself, truly, i am very blessed!
oh ya..i nearly forgot to mention the troupe of people, yes to a patient, it was a TROUPE ...of visitors to my room to pray for me. Now, i can understand how Ah Meng feels when he has visitors! HA. but i was touched to see so many people concerned about me, some of whom i dont know vry well. I really appreciate u all coming to pray for me. Much thanks! U know ur prayers are answered! =)
and i know, i have many friends who care for me, much more than i would expect them to. I thank God for placing each of u in my life, bcos of ur presence in my life, i know i am blessed!
I feel so blessed bcos i have u, dear friends!
love u!
ps: whenever i complain, pls remind me i am very blessed..!
