a bit of update about my life....well perhaps more accurately, should be my thoughts on my life and life in general.
hmm...the missions convention in church recently challenged me to move beyond my comfort zone and to go for missions. But i'm still very hesitant if i should, i dunno if that is what God wants me to do. but i guess the real issue for me was whether i was willing to go if it was really my call. I dunno if i'll ever step out in faith, cos that thought has never really crossed my mind. To me, it was just donating, praying and perhaps go for a short mission trip. But to be a full time missionary? i dunno..if that's my call? and if it is, will i go? I seriously doubt so at this moment in time.
but what is serving God if i do not go all out? what good is serving God if i just sing "to the ends of the earth" and sit by and do nothing? Am i serving God His way or my way?
and i dont believe a real servant of God only pays lip service. It has a cost, often challenging us beyond what we are comfortable with. and the real test begins....am i ready to go the extra mile for God and believe it is all worthwhile?
I dunno. But one thing i am sure is, whatever happens, i am not going to turn back. I know Jesus lives! but perhaps i got to really think deeper with regards to this issue.
another thought that comes to mind is regarding BGR. talked abt this to different people at different times, but it is such a complex issue that we will never really have a complete answer...
and my BURNing qn is: How can we know a BGR is edifying to God?
the basis of my qn assumes that not ALL BGR are edifying to God, put simply, i am saying not every BGR is pleasing to God, brings glory to God. and how do i know? i guess the most obvious is when people backslide. but it is hard to really know if a BGR is edifying God. and i guess that's not for me or anyone to judge but God. but i really hope that none of u will trade ur relationship with God for any other relationships.. cos that way, you will be missing out on A LOT that God wants to bless u. hmmm...but seriously i dun want to be or sound judgemental, but i really feel that sometimes, love makes us a bit blinded to see God. perhaps cos i am single, i can be more objective? perhaps we tend to treat our loved ones better than we treat God? i dunno....u can disagree..
but what i really wanna stress is that pls do not devalue ur r/s with God to second or third place even when u are attached. Cos afterall God knows us best. He is our only faithful and devoted friend and master.
for me, there's so much to learn about BGR, so much about God. I really dunno the answers to my qn. and most importantly, i'm in no position to judge. i hope i dont sound offensive to some. i dont mean to. just penning my thoughts on this issue. if u want, tell me what u think.
