A story once told of how a man stole from a priest. When he was arrested, the police asked the priest whether his things has been stolen. The priest answered "no, i gave him these things. I have adopted him! all of my things are his!"
isnt the priest good to the theif who stole from him? does the theif deserve such goodness?
sometimes, we are like the theif. We are selfish, jealous, backstab others, want the best for ourselfs and nelect those around us. We lie to escape punishment, we may be unfaithful to our partners, we disobey our parents.
But what if one day, u discover that despite all the "not-so-nice" things u have done, there was still a God who was willing to die for u? So that ur so called no-so-nice things (sins) could be atoned for? So that we do not have to go to hell? Put in context, those who do evil this life will have to go to hell....but who has never lied or shortchanged anyone before? So in actual fact, all of us would have to go to hell!
but what if you know there is this man called Jesus who died for u, so that u do not have to suffer in hell? He redeemed ur life! Satan wants u to burn in hell, God does not. Instead, Jesus died so that we can live!
and tell me what greater truth there is than that?
and what greater God is there than Jesus?God paid all ur debts for you, without u even knowing.
